Africa Initiative for the Needy Uganda (AINU) is an NGO seeking to help Marginalised groups that include the aged, youth, orphans and vulnerable children, women and individuals with Disabilities to Promote Sustainable development.
AINU operates in Kampala, Kyankwanzi, Kasese, Luwero, Kayunga, Kalangala, Mukono, Wakiso and Masaka Districts. Our head office is located in Kayunga District.

AINU is an NGO with a vision of empowering families in need to work towards sustainable Livelihood through implementation of Various Development Projects – An African prototype of an environmentally sustainable development projects in Uganda Supporting and Caring for women, Elderly, Youth and children living in the most neglected Rural areas of Uganda . Humankind is vulnerable to natural disasters, extreme poverty, infectious disease and a host of other challenges. One in six people on the planet live on less than $1 a day.
Our work is twofold: to respond to the needs of the community while designing an environment for health care, Education, Agriculture, and Economic Development that incorporates the highest possible standard in sustainable Livelihood. AINU Uses a Comprehensive approach to address the needs of the families served in different parts of the country.
We are guided by the belief that everything done is geared towards responding to poverty reduction to promote sustainable livelihood through practicing modern Agriculture . We should acknowledge the dignity and potential of improving livelihood through demonstrating respect for the shared resources throughout the continent.
Through our Empowering programs AINU organizes Various Activities addressing environmental, social, Agricultural, Educational and Economical sector to enhance development. One of the key focus areas of the forum is to create public awareness on Improving Livelihood through implementation of programs that involve hard work and collective community responsibility leading to development. This is done through workshops, seminars, mentorship to promote Community ownership and participation .
Besides this, the organisation has been launching different programs, like as safe and pure drinking water, Adult Education, also Nature Conservation as well as protection of Bio-diversity in different parts of Uganda.
AINU is dedicated to mobilizing young women and men to actively take part in the development process of the country. AINU has Programmes in each of the FIVE regions of Uganda. AINU also collaborates with university students to offer internships, Research to undergraduates, Master and PHD students.
AINU works to support , children, youth , women and the elderly refugees on how to generate income to improve standard of living. AINU is committed to strive for young people through education, empowerment, and provide life skills trainings by building capacity, Mentorship, and apprenticeship. This Motivates young people to actively contribute towards development of their communities and country. AINU is also involved in creating awareness campaigns to address various problems that include; HIV/AIDS, gender-based violence, illiteracy and child Abuse.
